Beardlymen.com is a site dedicated to men and the pursuit of the perfect beard. Here at beardlymen.com we take bearding seriously. Just like in ancient Greece, we view beards as the ultimate sign of virility.
Since the dawn of man there has been the beard. Unfortunately for us the beard is no longer a sign of manhood. In ancient Egypt beards were so highly regarded that kings would often wear fake beards known as a Postiche, which was meant to represent sovereignty. In Greece, the Spartans would shave off the beards of cowards as a form of punishment. The Celts and Germanic tribes saw it as a sign of dishonor if a man could not, or did not grow facial hair and they were often seen with full beards and long hair. Up until 1984 it was still authorized for seaman in the Navy to grow beards. During the Civil War one would be pressed to find a man who did not have facial hair. Even today, many special forces operators dawn "combat beards" while deployed in-theatre.
We wanted to create a fun site for men with beards! We offer a variety of products, tips and tricks, and basic grooming information on beards. The m0ustache has become mainstream but the beard has remained in the shadows; our goal is to change that!
